About Us

Welcome to the Rogers Lab. I am Dr. Mary Rogers.

My program integrates teaching, applied research, and outreach in organic horticultural production systems. My work centers on integrated pest management for horticultural crops, with an emphasis on organic management, as well as improving local and organic fruit and vegetable production through season extension and protected culture.

My teaching mission is to create lifelong learners by strengthening knowledge, skills, and competence in horticultural science and food systems. My research focuses on ecological strategies to improve fruit and vegetable production in organic systems while collaborating with local growers and community members to build a more sustainable food system.

In addition to my research program, I serve as the faculty lead for the Student Organic Farm (SOF), a student-run learning farm that integrates hands-on, experiential education in sustainable and organic agriculture across all aspects of farm management. The SOF also functions as a demonstration site for interdisciplinary learning and a resource supporting applied research and outreach in organic systems.
